Telethon are still alive in local news and are very profitable for the charities that they represent. One I had the joy of working at for two years was the Permian Basin Rehab Center telethon.
All donations went to provide rehabilitation for families that couldn't afford it. Most of the center's focus was on children and during the telethon viewers were able to hear stories from the mouths of the children and their family.
I was doing live camera work for the 2016 telethon, while a friend of mine was the hired still photographer...But i couldn't help myself and had to find every chance I could to take some shots.
These are the best of those and I will leave them to tell their own story through an June weekend in 2016.
